Please Support our Men’s Playoff Drive

Sierra Foothills Men’s Division III Club has accomplished great strides in only its second full season as a club in the Northern California Rugby Football Union. For those of you who have not heard, the Men’s Club went the season undefeated with a record of 8-0 and entered the NorCal playoffs defeating highly competitive opponents Redwood Empire and Vallejo. With those victories, the Men’s Club continued their winning endeavors qualifying for the Pacific Coast Rugby Football Union playoffs and championship held on May 4^th and 5^th. Your Men’s Club was victorious against the Pacific Northwest’s representative, Budd Bay and earned qualification and entry into the USA Rugby National D-III Senior Men’s Club playoffs round of “Sweet 16” to be held May 18^th-19^th in Irving, Texas. Should our Men’s Club prevail in Texas, it’s on to the National Championship, held June 1-2, 2013 in Glendale, Colorado.

The Sierra Foothills organization is incredibly proud of the team’s efforts and commitment in promoting and representing the club in a truly competitive fashion. Of note, several of the Men’s Club coaches and players are youth coaches as well. With that, it is the organization’s goal to offer the continued support necessary to allow the men to advance toward a National Championship.

Sierra Foothills will do what it can to offer financial assistance to the Men’s Club to ensure this rare opportunity is achieved. Travel to Texas and Colorado will come largely at the individual players’ expense and is in many cases, somewhat of a hardship. As a club, we truly understand that making a decision to offer monetary support is a significant financial commitment.

Summer Rugby Camps 2013

We have posted notices of various rugby camps in our region this summer on our Camps page. Camps are offered for players of all ages, and we are aware of at least one for coaches as well. SFRC neither endorses nor discourages participation in any particular camp. We simply wish to provide the information for any of our club members looking to improve their rugby skills over the summer. Please check the Camps page often as we post notices about these camps as they come in.
